About Us

The Lakewood Masonic Temple Company is a not-for-profit corporation organized for the purposes owning and operating the Lakewood Masonic Temple for the benefit of its six owners--Lakewood Lodge #601 Free & Accepted Masons, Clifton-Gaston Allen Lodge #664 Free & Accepted Masons, Cunningham Chapter #187 Royal Arch Masons, Lakewood Council #125 Royal & Select Masons, Holy Grail Commandery #70 Knights Templar  and Ann Rutledge Chapter #453 Order of the Eastern Star.

Legal and Tax Status

The Lakewood Masonic Temple Company was originally incorporated on June 5, 1912, in the State of Ohio.  The Company converted to not-for-profit status on December 31, 1984.

The United States Internal Revenue Service has determined that the Company is exempt from federal income tax as a 501(c)(2) organization; more particularly, a title holding company.  Contributions to the Company are generally NOT deductible for federal income tax purposes.  Bequests, legacies and similar gifts are NOT deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes.  Donors seeking preferred tax treatment for their support of the Lakewood Masonic Temple should consider gifts to The Lakewood Masonic Foundation.
