It is one of three organizations which together form the York Rite of Freemasonry [the other two being Royal & Select Masons and Knights Templar]. Royal Arch Chapters can be found in countries throughout the world. The roots of the Royal Arch degree can be traced back to the late 17th century in Ireland and in England in 1738. By 1753 the Royal Arch degree had migrated to the United States. While the Lodge degrees deal with the material side of life, the Chapter degrees, particularly the Royal Arch degree, deal with the spiritual side of life. Cunningham Chapter was chartered in 1910. Through a series of consolidations, Cunningham Chapter can trace its roots back to 1872 when Berea Chapter #134 was chartered in Berea, Ohio. Berea Chapter consolidated into Cunningham Chapter in 2019. Robert Wallace Chapter #198, chartered in 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Parma, Ohio, in 1953, later consolidated into Berea Chapter in 1990. Avon Lake Chapter #244, chartered in 1960 in Avon Lake, Ohio, consolidated into Cunningham Chapter in 2003. Mystic Chapter #170, chartered in 1901 in Lorain, Ohio, consolidated into Avon Lake Chapter in 1995. Cunningham Chapter is chartered under the authority of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio . Cunningham Chapter holds one stated convocation each month, except July and August. The June convocation is held on the first Monday rather than the third Wednesday. Any man who is a Master Mason in good standing of a Masonic Lodge may petition for membership. For information on membership, please contact our Chapter Secretary or download our petition form. Petitions for degrees must be accompanied by our current fee of $58. |
